FAQ
What is legal window tint in Ontario?
In Ontario, tint laws are as follows:
Front windshield: No tint below the AS-1 line (only a top strip is allowed).
Front side windows: Must allow more than 70% of light through.
Rear side windows and back windshield: Any darkness is allowed.
We ensure all installations comply with Ontario regulations. Most customers choose 35–50% ceramic film on front sides and 5–20% on rear windows for privacy.
How long does window tint installation take?
Window tint installation typically takes 2–4 hours, depending on vehicle size and number of windows. After installation, wait 3–7 days before rolling windows down to allow the film to fully cure.
Will window tint interfere with GPS, radio, or phone signals?
No. XPEL ceramic and carbon window films are non-metallic, so they do not block cell service, GPS, Bluetooth, or radio signals.
Will window tint turn purple over time?
No. XPEL window film uses carbon and ceramic technology that resists fading and discoloration. Cheap dyed films may turn purple, but premium films maintain their color long-term.
Does XPEL window tint come with a warranty?
Yes. XPEL window tint includes a manufacturer's warranty against bubbling, peeling, cracking, and fading. Warranty coverage varies by product line.
